2012 was a very busy year for us and we’ve been busy planning a whole bunch of stuff for 2013.

At the moment, most of our plans for the year are going to stay under wraps. Over the coming months things will change. One of our biggest efforts is going to be a change to our branding. That means a new logo, a new website, new business cards, new letterheads, blah-blah-blah – new EVERYTHING!

So what does this mean for you? It means that we are going to become much more visible. You will start to see us more in your everyday goings on. We’re not Tesco or Asda though so don’t expect to see us promoted on the TV (hmmm, a challenge for next year perhaps!!!)

We know that our clients love what we currently do for them and so of course we will continue to provide this. However, we’re going to be raising the bar this year. Better levels of service, better products and better photography.

• Refining our service standards to make it easier for you to interact with us is important, so we’re going to try and simplify that for you a bit more.
• Products can become a little stale, so we are researching some fantastic new products that will blow your socks off!
• Although accomplished in photography, we will be investing in more training this year to sharpen our talents and reward our clients with some totally awesome images.

There will be a whole load of different projects running throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled and we hope to see you here again soon.

Well, 2012 was a great year. Will 2013 be even better? I certainly think that it will be a year to remember. If only there could be another Olympics!!!

There are many, many happy people out there and no matter what the state of the economy, people still fall in love, get engaged and get married. This year is a little different to some as the breakfast TV shows were pointing out “It’s 2013! Will 13 be lucky for some?”. If you’re of a superstitious persuasion then 2014 might be the year you get married, but for a good number of you 2013 is a going to be the year that you get married to the one you love. Weddings are special days no matter when or where they are. As with most things in life, it’s the people you share it with that really count.

Anyhow, another year is underway and I am going to make the very best of it.

The Olympic Torch Relay was in Kettering on Monday 2nd July on it’s marathon up, down and around the country before the first event on 27th July and the opening ceremony on 29th July.

It was unlikely that my wife and I would ever have another opportunity to see something like this again in our lifetime, or even in my daughter’s lifetime, so off we went to track down the torch.

The crowds of people were quite staggering and everybody was in good spirits despite the rain. After walking about a mile, we made it just in time to see Jim Redmond bearing the Olympic Torch at Wicksteed Park.

Those of you that are as old as me may remember Jim Redmond. He became famous at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games when he helped his son, Derek, who had torn a hamstring injury in the 400m semi-finals and lay stricken on the track. Jim entered the track to help him finish the race and in doing so, created a historic Olympic moment.

Next we dashed into Kettering town centre and made our way to the Market Place where the Olympic Torch was on display for a short while. Mayor James Hakewill and Deputy Mayor Keli Watts were there in their regalia to welcome the Torch and meet with the next bearer, Alice Barnes.

There were musical and dance acts to enter the crowds whilst the Olympic Torch was on display. Also among the entertainment was the Kettering Olympic Gymnastics Club

Alice was selected by Lloyds TSB who are Presenting Partners of the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. 16 year old Olympic hopeful, Alice Barnes, from Towcester, who won the National Mountain Bike Championship this year. She was selected because of her commitment and dedication to her sport of cycling and inspiring her peers through becoming involved in school sport such as her involvement in National School Sport Week.

Alice is an athlete on the Lloyds TSB Local Heroes programme. Lloyds TSB Local Heroes, in partnership with SportsAid, supports future stars of Team GB and ParalympicsGB on their journey to London 2012 and beyond. To find out more visit lloydstsb.com/localheroes

YES, YES, YES. VOGUE MAGAZINE HAVE SELECTED US AS A RECOMMENDED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER. I’m going to say it again , because I almost can’t believe it. The lovely people at Vogue Magazine said that we have been selected as one of their recommended wedding photographers.

Well, if it wasn’t enough that we were selected as the Exclusive Wedding Photographer for the entire East Midlands by Brides Magazine recently…

The April issue of Vogue magazine will hit the shelves in mid-march featuring a Wedding Special. We’re very, very proud to have been selected as one of the elite specialists in our field.

It’s not every day that something this amazing happens but we sure do appreciate being given the nod from the beautiful people at Vogue.

Wedding photography is a labour of love for me (if you’ll excuse the pun) and to be chosen to feature in such a prestigious publication as Vogue is astonishing. It’s a leap year ladies.
